Status of How Snow Days Will Affect Bond Mill PDF Print E-mail

Below is an excerpt from an email that Justin Fitzgerald, Bond MIll's Principal, received from the Maryland Department of Education (MDSE):

"MSDE has agreed to forgive five days for snow.  The Dec. snow dates were not considered because totals did not reach the 28 inches needed to make the request at that time.  As a result, of the five forgiven days the the 4 days the county built in as possible snow days:
Spring Break will stay in tack
The last day of school for students will be June 16th
The last day for teachers will be June 17th.

. MSA testing will not be pushed back.
MSDE determined moving the test back by two weeks was not possible.  The vendor used for purchasing and delivery are also used for testing for other States.  Rescheduling the material drop off and scoring did not work to our advantage.
MSA Reading March 9th and 10th".

Attention all Bond Mill Elementary School parents!

As Justin FitzGerald reminded us in previous Bulldog newsletters "If the weather is predicted to be bad, watch the news on the television, listen to the radio, call the PGCPS information line (301-952-6000, then press 1), or check the school system website (www.pgcps.org).  Please, DO NOT CALL THE SCHOOL.

New Absentee/Tardy Phone Number at Bond Mill PDF Print E-mail

Bond Mill has a new Absentee/Tardy Phone Line.  If you know your child is going to be absent or tardy, please call 301-498-3501.   This number is in the new Parent Handbook in the Student Attendance section, under Student Absence.  It is also on the PTO website in the Contact Us section.  The actual Health Line remains 301-497-3608, but that number is just for contacting the nurse about health concerns or returning calls about children in the Health Room, NOT for reporting absences.
