Beautification and Landscaping Committee One or more Chairpersons Oversee and coordinate Earth Day in April or May, maintaining and planting flowerbeds, playground maintenance, and any new ideas or projects. Volunteers perform specific duties,such as maintain flowerbeds and bushes, plant flowers, spread new mulch, maintain the playground, etc. Kelly Krause
Book Fair Committee One or more Chairpersons Coordinate the annual week-long Book Fair in November including contracting the company, arranging schedules for parent volunteers and classrooms, placing book orders, and organizing the distribution of books. Box Tops for Education One Chairperson and school community Chairperson publicizes, collects, counts and sends to General Mills the Box Tops for Education logos collected by the school community. Kim Jones
Campbell Soup Labels One Chairperson and school community Chairperson publicizes the program, informing the community of the qualifying products. Collects, counts and send labels to Campbell’s. Keeps records of labels submitted and updates PTO. School community collects labels and drops them off in the school office Kim Jones
Carnival Committee Two or three Chairpersons Oversee and supervise all aspects of school carnival. Oversee subcommittee chairs: Games, Prizes, Volunteer Recruitment, Entertainment, Ticket Sales, Raffles, Publicity, etc. Subcommittee Chairs meet once/month beginning in Feb. Children’s Activity Committee One or two Chairpersons Identify appropriate student-centered activities, such as roller/ice skating, Chick-fil-A/Chuck E. Cheese Night, and sock hop. Coordinate and schedule one or more social activities. Advertise the event(s) to the school community.

Class Parent(s) Assist teacher in coordinating three holiday parties (Halloween, winter, and Valentines Day). Typically, responsible for getting class parents to provide food, drinks, and other party supplies. Ask parents to bring a treat, drinks, and paper products (for classes with above-average PTO membership). Enlist volunteers to work at the class booth at the PTO Spring Carnival, if needed. Find volunteers to help with the end-of-year class picnic. Schedule classroom volunteers (see below).
Classroom Volunteers Sign-up with the teacher or class parent to volunteerwhenever you can to assist in the classroom, duties assigned by teacher. Activities include: working with small groups, helping with crafts, collating student material, stuffing “Friday Folders”, updating bulletin boards and visual displays, etc.
Communications Committee Mailing List Responsible for creating mailings to the Bond Mill community via the mailing list and to maintain the mailing list. Carolyn Vincent
Newsletter - One chairperson/newsletter editor Design/lay-outthe PTO newsletter, describing upcoming PTO events and other news important to the school community. Committee chairs are encouraged to submit committee news reports. Carolyn Vincent
Publicity - One Chairperson Work with committee chairs to publicize specific events. Ensure fliers/posters/signs are made; call local newspapers (Laurel Leader, Gazette), etc. OPEN
Student Directory - One Chairperson to coordinate student directory activities Volunteers needed to enter information and proofread. Planning begins in the summer. Lisa Horsman

Cultural Arts Committee One or more Chairpersons Investigate diverse cultural arts performances and contract performers for the school year within the allocated budget. Schedule artists-in-residence to work in classrooms. May attend Montgomery County Showcase to help choose performing arts groups in early October. Help write grant applications for arts funding. Dance Team (After School Enrichment) Coordinate and supervise all aspects of the Dance Team. Select performance(s) for school year. Teach/guide students in dance-relatedactivities. Drama Club (After School Enrichment) One or more Chairpersons Coordinate and supervise all aspects of the Drama Club. Select performance(s) for school year. Teach/guide students in drama-relatedactivities. Committee members are drama students' families. Any PTO member with drama expertise who would like to participate is encouraged to volunteer. Family Dinner Committee One or two Chairpersons Organize International Family Dinner, Shrimp Feast, and/or Spaghetti Dinner. Coordinate food and entertainment; publicize the event to the school community, set-up, and clean-up. OPEN
Hospitality Committee Two or three Chairpersons Coordinate all Teacher Appreciation activities, including refreshments at PTO-related functions such as Back-To-School Night. There are monthly staff appreciation luncheons, organized around themes, such as Italian, luau, chocolate/desserts, etc. Volunteers sign-up for specific dates to prepare a food item, such as salad, cake, cookies, soup, etc. A sign-up sheet for food items will beat the Ice Cream Social and/or Back-To-School Night.

Ice Cream Social Committee A group effort of fun and energetic people to coordinate the planning and execution of a family ice cream social. Committee members meet during the summer to plan a welcome back-to-school ice cream social.

Media Center Volunteers (PTO Affiliation) Volunteers work with Media Center Assistant, typically on a weekly basis. Tasks may include shelving books, assisting students in selecting books, checking books in/out, and other administrative tasks, as needed. Eileen Kineriem
Nominating Committee One Chairperson Recruits and reviews available candidates for PTO Board positions. Amy Brennan
Parents: Partners in Reading (PTO Affiliation) Parents and community members Parents and community members interested and available during the school day to work under the direction of our reading specialist to support struggling readers. Training will be provided. Brook Estes
Parent Workshops Plan workshops for parents on issues such as homework, MSAs, health issues, etc. Workshops are held on a monthly basis.

Playground Committee Using the concept of an old-fashioned barn-raising, the community built playground project will involve the entire community pulling together to make possible the child’s workplace – the playground. Area children will be involved in the design of the playground and the playground committee is asking volunteers for construction (any level of skill), food preparation, fundraising, child care, and more. PTO Fundraising Committee One or two Chairpersons Organize and execute PTO’s fall product promotion fundraiser every other year (odd years). Work closely with PTO Board in the distribution of fundraising packets, collection of order forms and money, distribution of orders, and the awarding of prizes. OPEN
PTO Membership Drive Committee One or two Chairpersons Organize PTO Membership Drive in the beginning of the school year. Send out the PTO President's letter and PTO dues envelope to parents/guardians. Collect PTO dues, keep membership records and log individual classroom progress. Distribute PTO membership cards. Technology Committee One or more Chairpersons Work with Bond Mill Technology Assistant. Provide hardware and software assistance as requested. Write-A-Book One or more Chairpersons Communicate with teachers in mid-September about the requirements for the Write-A-Book competition. Schedule and coordinate Write-A-Book night, teach binding, and identify parent volunteers to read and judge books to help decide which books will be submitted to the county Write-A-Book competition.
