Below is an excerpt from an email that Justin Fitzgerald, Bond MIll's Principal, received from the Maryland Department of Education (MDSE):
"MSDE has agreed to forgive five days for snow. The Dec. snow dates were not considered because totals did not reach the 28 inches needed to make the request at that time. As a result, of the five forgiven days the the 4 days the county built in as possible snow days: Spring Break will stay in tack The last day of school for students will be June 16th The last day for teachers will be June 17th. . MSA testing will not be pushed back. MSDE determined moving the test back by two weeks was not possible. The vendor used for purchasing and delivery are also used for testing for other States. Rescheduling the material drop off and scoring did not work to our advantage. MSA Reading March 9th and 10th".

The Bond Mill Carnival committee meeting will be today, March 10 at 6:30pm in the alcove. Although the carnival is not until May we need to work to get donations from our local businesses. A list of the committees (with a brief description) that make the carnival work is listed below. If you are interested in being on one of the committees send an email to the co-chairs, Mary Lehman and Carolyn Vincent at carnival@bondmillpto.org.

We are in the process of finalizing the details for the Bond Mill Student directory. All PTO members will receive a copy of the directory once it is printed. This year the PTO has purchased a new software system to keep track of all of the information needed to produce the directory. We need to verify all of the information for the directory before it is printed. A paper form will be going home with your student no later than Friday, February 26. However, if you want to get a jump on this you can review and modify your information online.
If you would like to update your own information online:
- Go to http://bondmill.ptomanager.com/index.html
- If you have a log in already, just enter your login credentials. Otherwise,
click on Forgot Your Password. Your password will be sent to you and you can modify your information.
If you have any issues with the online product send an email to news@bondmillpto.org. |

Well it's time for another Science Fair. Science Fair is on March 23 at 7pm. It is mandatory for students in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades but optional for all other grades. Parents - If you need assistance do not hesitate to contact your child's teacher. Does your child forget to bring home their packet or you aren't sure what the schedule is? No fear - the complete packet is now on the PTO website and if you just want the timeline, it is available as a separate document.

Congratulations to the Bond Mill Student Council for organizing the Haiti Relief donations. The Bond Mill community donated over $2,400 to this effort. The Bond Mill PTO has sent the check to UNICEF to help assist those Haiti families. The Bond Mill PTO cancelled our scheduled fundraiser, MINDCORE, so that the main concentration of funds would be directed to the Haiti Relief. |
